The University of Aveiro (UA), the Portuguese Society for the Study and Intervention Grief, the Mourning Space and the Observatory of Mourning in Portugal promote the III Congress "Mourning in Portugal", in UA, on 16 and 17 May. The meeting will focus on grief integrated thematic , like suicide , the dying process , the end of life , the process of mourning, the bereaved child and the school, bereavement caregivers and interventionists, losses deep personal meaning, counselors and therapists grieving and mourning for social devaluation, such as that caused by unemployment and deskilling.
The Congress is attended by renowned experts on the topic of grief. At the international level will attend the UA Mary Lappin, University of Glasgow, and Kari Dyregrov, University of Bergen. From Portugal, the Congress will have present Álvaro de Carvalho, Director of the National Program for Mental Health, António Barbosa, Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon, Carlos Braz Saraiva, Faculty of Medicine, University of Coimbra, Julia Serpa Pimentel, the ISPA, Maria João Beja, University of Madeira, José Carlos Rocha, the CESPU, Fátima Albuquerque and José Eduardo Rebelo, UA.
